Howdy! I’m Blu, a seasoned designer with a career spanning the better part of my professional journey. My expertise lies across many different forms of design ranging from UX, digital, print, and screen printing. The love for design and my fascination with psychology led me to obtain my UX certification at the McCombs School of Business at UT Austin.
Growing up around creative individuals sparked my passion for design at an early age. During my teenage years, I started creating graphics and print material for my family’s cabinet company. As I progressed through my career, I took on a wide range of wonderful projects. From revitalizing the digital presence of a local non-profit to shaping the brand identity of a reputable home decor manufacturer. I have been a part of the full design process and have created digital products from the ground up.
My fascination with how people interact with technology has played a major part in my journey. It not only deepened my understanding of how technology operates but also enriched my approach as a UX Designer. It constantly challenges me to push boundaries and reimagine the user experience in a world of rapid technological advancement (still waiting on those flying cars).
Beyond design, I’ve also held management roles, including Operations Manager, where I strengthened team dynamics. As Manager of Key Accounts, I developed strong B2B relationships and implemented revenue-generating strategies.
Behind the Scenes
In my free time, I spend my days traversing the scenic locations of Austin, TX. I like to hike the various greenbelt spots or throw a disc around one of Austin’s many disc golf courses.
At home you can find me enjoying a video game, watching a crappy horror movie with my wife, or reading a book which will either be a Sci-Fi novel or a book on UX. The current books on my bedside table are The Illustrated Man and Laws of UX.
I’m always looking to broaden and strengthen my arsenal of tools. Whether it is fine-tuning my coding skills, working on personal design projects, or sculpting 3d miniatures in Blender.
